Meet Alana, Dental Hygienist at Monroe Dental Care

I earned my degree from the University of Michigan’s Dental Hygiene program in 1999, and since then, I have been dedicated to providing exceptional oral healthcare as a dental hygienist. My passion for dentistry goes back even further—before becoming a hygienist, I worked as a dental assistant in the Monroe area for 23 years. This extensive background has given me a deep understanding of all aspects of patient care, from chairside assistance to preventive dental treatment, and has shaped the way I approach each patient’s unique needs.

For more than two decades, I have had the privilege of helping patients improve and maintain their oral health through gentle, thorough, and personalized care. I take pride in educating patients about their dental health, offering practical tips, and making each visit to our office as comfortable as possible. Whether I’m performing a routine cleaning or explaining the importance of good home care habits, my goal is always to help patients feel confident in their smiles and empowered in their oral health decisions.

Rooted in Monroe, MI

I am proud to be part of the Monroe community, where I have built lasting relationships with patients and their families. My husband, Jerry, and I have been married for 43 wonderful years. Together, we have five children and fifteen grandchildren—several of whom are patients of Dr. Zahraa Allohaibi here at Monroe Dental Care.

Family means everything to me, and I love that my work allows me to care for people in a way that feels personal and meaningful. It’s always a joy to see familiar faces in the dental chair, whether they are lifelong patients or brand-new to our practice.

Outside the Office

When I’m not caring for patients, I enjoy spending my time gardening and sewing—two hobbies that let me express creativity and patience, much like my work as a dental hygienist. These activities allow me to recharge, stay active, and bring the same positive energy back into the office each day.
